Revitalization of Generator Rotor Shaft

In 2024, Taka Turbo completed a critical revitalization project for the Generator Rotor Shaft Unit 1 of PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Banten 3 Lontar. This project aimed to restore the integrity and reliability of the generator system that plays an essential role in supporting power generation stability for the Banten region.

During operation, the generator rotor shaft exhibited signs of wear and imbalance that could potentially lead to vibration issues and efficiency loss. The complexity of the component, coupled with limited downtime availability, required precision engineering and a rapid yet reliable restoration process.

Taka Turbo’s engineering team carried out a comprehensive assessment to identify the mechanical and dimensional deviations of the rotor shaft.
The shaft underwent precision machining and metal spray restoration, followed by dynamic balancing to ensure vibration stability during high-speed operation. All works were executed under strict quality standards and OEM-level tolerances to guarantee long-term operational reliability.
